THE HYBRID XI
A limited team of eleven T-style guitars
While the world’s best football teams compete for the title, Haar Guitars is fielding a team of its own: The Hybrid XI.
Eleven T-style guitars.
One colour.
One pickup set.
One shared specification.
Each guitar is built to the same high standard, but because wood and necks are never completely identical, every member of the team will have a character of its own.
Why “Hybrid”?
The word custom is used rather freely in the guitar world. Sometimes it describes an instrument made almost entirely from scratch. Sometimes it means that a number of ready-made parts have been assembled and given a custom finish. Both approaches can produce a good guitar, but we believe the player should know exactly what they are buying.
That is why we call these guitars Hybrids.
The body is made by Haar from a single piece of korina. For the necks, we use licensed necks from Allparts – Allparts Lindy Fralin.
We do not simply bolt them on.
Every neck is extensively modified, finished and prepared in our own workshop.
In other words: some parts begin life elsewhere, but the instrument is built, refined and completed here in the Netherlands.
No vague labels. No carefully chosen half-truths. Just a clear account of what we make, what we modify and how the final guitar comes together.

The neck
Each neck is individually reworked and receives:
• a corrected 8″–10″ compound fingerboard radius
• a complete refret with Dunlop 6105 fretwire
• a lacquer finish
• a fitted bone nut
• full PLEK treatment
• a professional setup with Plek with Curt Mangan 10–46 strings

The result is not an off-the-shelf neck, but a neck that has been reshaped, refretted and set up to meet our own standards for feel, accuracy and playability.
Sometimes it describes an instrument made almost entirely from scratch, like Haar custom made.
Sometimes it means that a number of ready-made parts have been assembled and given a finish ( Let’s not call names).

The body
Each body is made by Haar from one solid piece of korina and receives an aged finish as standard.

The Hybrid XI combines the consistency and accessibility of selected production parts with the materials, fretwork, finishing and Plek setup.
